Fourth Sorrowful   Mystery: The Carrying of the Cross — Patience

- John 19:17; Luke 23:26

17 and carrying the cross by himself, he went out to what is called The   Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew[a] is called Golgotha.

26 As they led him away, they seized a man, Simon of Cyrene, who was   coming from the country, and they laid the cross on him, and made him carry   it behind Jesus.

Our Father …

Hail Mary full of grace,   the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blest is the fruit of   thy womb Jesus, who embraced his cross for us. (during lent: who embraced   the Cross because of my sins).

Holy Mary, Mother of God,   pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Concluding Prayer:

Pray for us, Mary, Mother of Sorrows, that we   practice patience with ourselves and with others.
